BMW 330i TOURING (E46) - 2000 - FARNGRUN
Farn grün is one of the less common colours to be seen on this generation of 3-Series. A shame when you get to appreciate the depth of this shade of green and the almost golden hues that appear under the right light. It bears almost no defects, except for a few small chips on the bumpers, and looks spectacular. The orange indicators fitted to this pre-LCI model further emphasize the warm tones of this paintwork.
The wheels, though not the original ones fitted to the car, are period correct for this model and also happen to be a more desirable factory design. They are in excellent condition with only a few very small marks or scratches.
Badges, grilles and plastic trims have either been replaced or refurbished to ensure the car looks as sharp as possible
This is where this car truly distinguishes itself. The green seats may not be to everyone’s taste, but they are unquestionably a unique feature, especially with this sport design mixing cloth and leather. As surprising as this may be, this was not an Individual specification, but rather a regular catalogue option that was likely seldomly chosen. The condition of the interior is remarkable with only the slightest signs of wear on the stearing wheel and driver bolster.
The factory head unit has been replaced with a Carplay/Android unit that retains the OEM look while adding modern functionality.
Of course, all the on-board equipment has been tested and works as it should.
The M54B30 is undoubtedly one of BMW’s best powerplants. It’s ample power and torque are delivered with a smoothness only found in a Bavarian straight-six engine. Most issues with these engines are well known and have usually been seen to as is the case with this example.
The cooling system was completely overhauled in 2022 including a new water pump, thermostat, radiator, serpentine belt and pulleys. The PCV system and VANOS seals have also been replaced recently, and the camcover gasket as well as the oil filter housing are both perfectly dry.
The ZF five-speed manual gearbox’s oil was replaced just over a year ago and it shifts perfectly. For peace of mind, an oil service will be carried out upon sale.
Extensive work has also been carried out on this front, and it can immediately be felt behind the wheel. With new shock absorbers, front wishbones and all manner of bushings fitted over the last 20.000 kilometres, this car rides and handles superbly. New brake lines have also been fitted all round, as well as new discs and pads in the rear.
The car’s underpinnings are healthy and indicate it has been well kept.
