BMW 525i TOURING (E39) - 2003 - OXFORDGRÜN
The depth and shine of Oxford green metallic II paint is really something to experience in person. It has warmth, presence and an unmistakeable elegance. The chrome accents specific to the Exclusive Edition bring a subtle interruption and highlight the glow of this colour.
Despite being over two decades old, the body work bears only very minor defects, perfectly in keeping with the car’s mileage. The wheels are in good condition, as are the trim parts and it is to be noted the headlights have been fully refurbished.
As is to be expected with an unmolested car, the soft nappa leather seats have aged well and look almost as good as new. The specific two-tone wood trim that extends to the steering wheel is in good condition but does show a little UV fading.
Further proof of this car’s state of preservation is the fact the factory fitted mobile phone is still present in the center armrest. As part of our rejuvenation process, the instrument cluster was sent out for refurbishment due to a few dead pixels.
The M54B25 is a solid engine that delivers adequate power and smoothness for such a long distance cruiser. Most recently, we replaced the leaky valve cover gasket and can report just how clean the valve train is on this car: not a sign of varnish, a testament of this car’s regular maintenance.
Of course, a full service including all filters and differential oil change has been performed.
Given the relatively low mileage of this example, the underside is also in great condition. The car rides and handles superbly, with no vibration or vagueness.
During our overhaul process, a faulty ABS module was identified (a common issue) and the unit was subsequently professionally refurbished. There are of course no signs of rust, meaning this car will live on for many years to come.
