At first glance, this is without a doubt a very tidy example of an LCI E39, with those iconic halo ring headlights. It is only when you look closer that some specific details start to stand out: extra chrome on the rubbing strips and tailgate handle, gloss black window trim and style 50 wheels… This is without a doubt an Exclusive Edition, only available towards the end of production. 

But this car doesn’t just stand out by its trim, it also shines by its condition. The Titan silver paint bears almost no defects - except for a few small chips on the bumpers and a couple of almost unnoticeable dents - and looks spectacular. The wheels have never met a curb, and the car overall looks unbelievably fresh for it’s 23 years on the road.

There is no questioning the fact E39 interiors age well and feel nice, but as is the case for the exterior, the difference with this example is in the details. The leather is high quality Nappa with an exclusive design, the two-tone wood trim that extends to the steering wheel is also specific, and the car is rather well appointed. 

As you might expect, the seats, carpets, panels and headliner are all in stunning condition. Of course, all the equipment has been tested, and excepted a few pixels on the MID display, everything works perfectly.

For added practicality, a Bluetooth adapter has been fitted to thus retains the OEM look while adding modern functionality.

What better to power BMW’s finest 5-Series than one of the brand’s very best straight-six engines? The M54B30 delivers 231 hp to the ZF five-speed automatic transmission, offering remarkable smoothness, great cruising ability and a satisfying amount of punch.

This engine’s needs are well known and many of them have been addressed recently as part of our preventative maintenance policy: oil pan, cam cover and filter housing gaskets, PCV system replacement as well as a brand-new water pump, thermostat and fan clutch.

Of course, a full service including all filters, sparkplugs and differential oil change has been performed.

As is the case with the engine compartment, many service items have also been replaced underneath the car including engine mounts, front drop links, front wheel bearing and rear brake pads.

More importantly, the car’s underpinnings look healthy and indicate it has been well kept.
